Dear Folks,Just got back to camp this morning from furlough to St, Malo, While there I wrote you a long letter describing my trip. Hope you received it.
On the way back we went quite a bit out of our way to see Paris. We were there from 7 A.M. to 7:30 P.M. the same day. It is quite a wonderful city and was worth the effort to see it. It is in a place by itself. Its buildings, boulevards, bridges, and subway are truly wonderful. Its subway system is the best in the world. Among the many things we saw were the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower, the Ferris Wheel, and Napoleon’s Tomb. Also came past the building where the Peace Conference was sitting.
While at St. Malo I sent home a bunch of post views of France in one bundle, also a booklet on Mont St. Michel and a picture of the same place. Let me know when they reach you. Will also send you some views of Paris in a few days.
There was 3 inches of snow and plenty of ice, but here it is raining as usual. You may look for me home in about 4 months.
Best of Love,
