Dear Folks,Are still in this place and have no idea how much longer we are going to be here.
This is a wonderful country for rain. It has rained every day since we have been here. During the year 1918, it rained 330 days out of 365. Can you imagine the middle of January and people plowing and the grass green and 3 and 4 inches high? Tell Karl it would make a wonderful country for dairying. They have had no snow and no freezing weather yet this winter.
I am in hopes of getting on my furlough next week but do not know for certain. I am sending some postcards in this letter. Save all the postcards I send. I will tell you about them when I get home.
Hope you are all well.
Best of Love,

We are only about 3 miles from the port, and we can hear the transports whistling as they leave loaded with soldiers. Makes us feel fine to listen to them while we are working in the mud and rain.We have some wonderful rainbows here. Two to four perfect ones every day. Yesterday morning I saw a rainbow by moonlight. The first I ever saw in my life.
