Dear Aunt Mary,
Rec’d thy letter of Nov. 11 the other day. Glad to hear thee is all through moving. Thee sure gets thy share of moving recently. We are still in this place. Don’t know how much longer we will be here. We are putting up barracks and partitioning them into small rooms for army offices. It is to be the headquarters for the first army.
Still know nothing definite about coming home. We hear lots of rumors but they conflict so that we know less than we heard nothing at all.
We have been having very mild weather for this time of the year for the past week or so. Warm, but more or less cloudy. I believe I would rather have it cold.
This is a good looking town. It is situated on the Aube river and is surrounded by hills.
I have very little news of interest this week.
Best wishes for Xmas & New Years.
Lovingly.
Joel
