Dear Folks,
Got back from the hospital yesterday, feeling fine and went back to work to-day. Am in fine shape now. Had a splendid 3 weeks rest. Mumps did not bother me very much. When I got back to camp I found two letters from thee, one of Jan. 17 and one of Feb 5th. You folks surely must be having some weather. We had very mild weather during the last part of Jan and the first part of Feb but lately we have been having regular winter weather, snow and ice but I think that spring must come soon.
Spent to-day hauling lumber, working with one fellow from Minnesota and one from Washington.
Wrote you a couple of letters while I was in the hospital but I don’t know whether they will reach you before this or not. Did you ever get a letter from me dated about Dec 15, describing the town we were stationed near at that time? Also did you get that little bit of money I sent you about the first of Feb? Reckon this will reach you about the time you are moving. Actually wish I was there to help you. Thank thee very much for sending those Oxford Press clippings. Want to get this in the mail so will close.
Lovingly,
Joel
