Postmark: New Rochelle, New York

Ft. Slocum, Company 2: This is one of the few buildings I saw going thru N.Y.⁽¹⁾Joel likely was able to see the then-new Post Office building because it is directly across 8th Avenue from Pennsylvania Station. Will probably be here for another week. Don’t know where then. This place is an an island about 40 miles NE of NY city. Recruits are sent here from several eastern states to be examined and equipped before being sent to camp.
